This morning the alarm clock rang at 5:00, but somehow we did not feel like getting up and decided to sacrifice the sunrise in Bryce. We are still the sunrise at Monument Valley and watch the sunrise at the Grand Canyon, the rich must!
Nevertheless we start early, we finally have some before. On the way we try the Germany game on satellite radio mitzubekommen. Works of course not, that are past NBA season and the game lost the U.S. much more important! First we take the route to Page, and let the Coral Pink Sand Dunes on the left, the Toadstool Hoodoos we resist. The first stop we put a short on Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam. After a few photos and a little visit Visitor Center to proceed. Next stop: Horseshoe Bend! Like a horseshoe, the Colorado River winds its way around a headland. We dare to the drip line before and shoot a few photos. The way back through the sand and let the increase to the parking lot us feel the heat.
Short stop at Walmart, fill up inventories. Why the Walmart is not signposted in principle? Get out to Antelope Canyon. We choose the lower, if only because the car park of the Upper been totally overrun looks! $ 20 admission plus $ 6 U.S. dollars Navajo Fee per person. Not exactly cheap, but yes, we knew it before, and it has paid off anyway! The first group has unfortunately already reached its full strength of people and so it goes with the second into the canyon. A photo Permit'm not getting my photo does not look professional enough to clear out ... Already!
The canyon itself like it very well and it's really a different world. Sometimes one wonders how other group members as quickly through the columns, although they are externally dependent on a cane. Tip is no longer the Antelope Canyon in any case. On Lower but the Germans are the small are setting the tone, as the view in the list of Visitors shows!
From here, then a seemingly endless line to Monument Valley border, at some point we will review it and check equal to one (of course in The View!). Here is the second time Navajo Fee payable. Well, when I see the Valley one too!
After we unpacked, we drive to the Valley Loop. More like the car I do not expect. The potholes are huge and very deep. Some in deep sand in everything that can be rapidly fatal. How can people drive through here with their Mustang remains a mystery to us! Afterwards, we have gained many impressions and the car also has a new color!
eat then we have dinner and by the reasonable prices in the restaurant surprise! Tastes good and the portions are huge! The day ends with the sunset then goes off morning's Grand Canyon.
